Why Blob

The whole pitch.

Block the apps that pull you in. Find x when you really want them. Walk away when you do not.

Block your problem apps

Pick the apps that tend to steal the next hour.

Want TikTok? Find x.

A quick check gives you one second to think twice.

Walk away. Keep the streak.

Skip the open and turn the impulse into progress.

See the time you saved

Daily score, widgets, and progress make it visible.

The loop

Want the app? Pause first.

The loop stays small on purpose.

  1. Block your problem apps.

  2. Find x.

  3. Not worth it? Leave.

Screens

Block. Pause. Walk away.

Choose the apps, answer before opening, or leave and see the time you saved.

Privacy

Designed around your device controls.

Blob uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to pause selected apps, show the in-app solve screens, run focus sessions, and share small daily score snapshots with its widget. It is not built to read messages, feeds, searches, camera recordings, microphone recordings, or precise location.

FAQ

Good to know.

What does Blob do?

It lets you choose problem apps that should pause before opening. When one fires, Blob asks you to answer a quick problem, or lets you walk away instead.

Why math?

It is an intentionally annoying pause so you think twice before the next scroll starts.

What is Boss Mode?

Boss Mode is a focused session that makes opening problem apps feel much less casual.

What does the widget show?

The widget shows a compact daily score snapshot with screen time, opens avoided, answers, streak, and related stats.

Can I still open problem apps?

Yes. Answer the prompt if you mean it, or walk away when it is not worth it. In Boss Mode, the open window is intentionally tiny.

What permissions does it need?

Blob needs Screen Time access to pause selected apps and may ask for notifications so it can bring you back when an app is waiting.
